Parlimentarian, farmer and company director

A Member of the Victorian Parliament from 1976 until 1999 representing the Ballarat Province serving as Minister for Housing and Aged Care 1992-96 and Minister for Health and Aged Care 1996-99.

He was a member of the Committee that organised the first Eureka Celebrations in the late 70’s and successfully advocated for the funding for the establishment of Eureka Centre that opened in March 1998.

He is a farmer and company director and is on the following Boards:

Silverchain Group of Companies, IPG Pty Ltd, Drinkwise Australia Ltd, Brotherhood of St Laurence, Pennington Institute.
